Household Objects, Tools and Weapons Display
The gallery is dedicated to objects of everyday use, dating from 6th century BCE to 5th century CE and largely discovered from the archaeological sites of Bhir Mound and Sirkap in Taxila. Items displayed in the gallery include pottery utensils, earthen vessels, metal ware including weapons, shields, tools, and numerous other objects such as toilet articles, children’s toys and various locks, bolts, and keys etc. The metal ware is made of iron, copper, lead and bronze. Ancient writings, surgical and harvesting tools, grinding stones and ivory objects are also part of this collection. These objects provide a glimpse into the domestic, social, commercial, and religious life of the people of this ancient cultural region.
